| The Pete V. Domenici Institute for Public Policy will be a living, nonpartisan institute in which issues of importance to the state, region and nation can be fully examined. It will provide a vehicle for input and recommendations to government on issues of importance to the state of New Mexico and the nation. Sound science would be the guiding force by which recommendations for public policy would be made. Employing an anticipatory and proactive approach, the focus of the institute will provide a foundation from which practical recommendations can be made to impact society. The Domenici Institute will be dedicated to:
Providing unique learning opportunities to students and the public involving issues of critical importance to the state of New Mexico and the global community.
Maintaining the catalogued Domenici Archival Collection (including memorabilia, print, and digital materials) for public and scholarly use.
Convening an annual public policy forum that engages both the academy and the citizenry in dialogue about critically important state, national and global issues.
Conducting "sound science" research regarding the policy areas of Sen. Domenici's greatest influence.
